I’m Emma. A few years ago I discovered the benefits of hypnotherapy and I want to share my story with you to help you feel safe and so you know that hypnotherapy isn’t just about what you may have seen on the TV.
I met my husband in 2008 and it was a few years later that I got enough courage to be a pillion on his motorbike and I soon got the biking bug! I was asked, by friends and family, if I ever wanted to ride my own bike and even though it sounded like lots of fun the thought of learning and taking all the tests made my palms sweaty and my stomach flip. As much as I wanted to learn I didn’t even have the confidence to pick up the phone to my local training school.
In an idle moment I googled how to increase my self confidence and was really interested in how hypnotherapy could help me. I found a lot of information online and after a while emailed a practitioner to arrange an initial consultation.
I had several sessions and the feeling of freedom after each session increased. It was an hour for myself and with the guidance from my therapist it wasn’t long before that anxious knot in my stomach went away and I picked up the phone to that training school and scheduled my first lesson.
That was nearly 5 years ago and since then I’ve ridden my motorbike over 25,000 miles around the UK and across Europe; through the mountain passes of the Alps and along the Wild Atlantic Way of Ireland. I know I could never have taken that first step without having hypnotherapy.
I decided that I wanted to have the ability to help other people feel the same freedom I did and so I booked myself onto a training course with Mindworks Therapy Training and trained to became a Hypnotherapy and Psychotherapy practitioner.
I use hypnosis and NLP (neuro-linguistic programming) techniques that means I am able to help people with a variety of emotional and behavioural problems; reducing anxiety, increasing self confidence and self esteem as well as changing any unwanted habits . Hypnotherapy can be used to help all sorts of issues and so if you want to learn more or have a conversation about how I can help you please get in touch.
I am a General Hypnotherapy Standards Council (GHSC) accredited practitioner and also a member of the General Hypnotherapy Register (GHR) and National Council of Psychotherapists (NCP), as such all prospective clients can be assured that in my practice I adhere to their strict code of ethics.
